On Monday, 13th May, our Under-13 girls became Eastern regional handball champions and qualified for the national finals in Derby, along with our Under-15 girls.
The team lost their very first group match 5-4, but then won the next four matches to top their group and qualify for the final.
After going 1-0 up early in the final, our girls found themselves 2-1 down going into the last minute. Gracie Hickman scored with thirty seconds on the clock to take the match into extra-time. Sophie Lowing put us in front, then we scored two more to win 5-2 and send us to the finals weekend.
The whole team was excellent, and the girls managed their emotions and skills really well to become winners.
Congratulations girls – we are very proud of you. Thank you Mr Baker for yet more coaching success!
