Uniform Survey – Statement

Uniform Survey – Statement

Dear Parents/Carer,
Thank you for participating in the uniform consultation survey that was released last week.
We have had over 220 responses to the survey, and would welcome any additional responses.
The academy would also like to thank all the parents and carers who attended the post-Ofsted parent information evenings.
Dialogue, consultation and communication between students, parents and staff is our priority.
The main concern raised was that the cost of uniform would be affected.
Our main priority is that the cost will remain the same as present for an entire uniform order.
The academy will look into sourcing ties for current Years 7-10 students, as the majority of parents would like all students to wear the new ties.
We will confirm this later in the academic year.
The majority of parents felt that the blazer would only need to be replaced when a child grows out of their current uniform.
The piping around the lapel of the new blazer will be the same on all students’ blazers.
The school house allocation will be shown through the colour of the student’s tie.
The school badge will be the same on all students’ blazers.
Due to the fact that the blazer is unique to Bower Park Academy, this will have to be ordered through the Havering Schoolwear store.
These blazers are competitive in price, and will allow for uniformity, which was a priority for parents on the survey.
Parents have also raised additional concerns on the survey. The Senior Leadership Team, alongside the Empower Learning Alliance Trust will also share the post-Ofsted action plan (POAP) on the school website this half term.
The POAP will elevate any of these concerns regarding the progress at the academy.
If you need to contact the academy, Heads of Year, office staff or the Head’s PA, email addresses are on the school website.
