Following a site inspection at 7.00 am this morning, we made the difficult decision to open the school one hour later than usual. I would like to thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
The pavements and pathways leading into the school, as well as those within the school grounds, were extremely icy. The safety of students is of paramount importance, so it was therefore necessary for all areas to be salted. The salting of the site started early this morning, but given the size of the site and the number of outside pathways and walkways, it does take some time to ensure that all areas are covered. Although the school was salted yesterday afternoon in preparation for the snow that had been forecast, this appears not to have prevented ice forming on the pathways this morning.
A text message was sent at 7.20 am to inform parents and carers of the decision. If you did not receive the text, please provide us with an up to date contact number.
Once again, thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
Mr A. Dixon
