DoE Success for BPA Students

Congratulations to the Duke of Edinburgh Award students for completing their expedition over the weekend.  Walking and carrying their kit in that heat is a real achievement.  A special thank you to Mrs Walsh, Ms Lesage and all the staff who helped out.  Giving up your weekend to help is much appreciated.  Mrs Walsh, the lead on DoE, wrote the following:

I just wanted to send out a quick email to congratulate all the Bower Park students who took part in the qualifying expedition this weekend.  As you were all out enjoying the sunshine, 22 of our students were walking through Epping Forest, carrying everything they would need for their two day expedition.  It was a huge effort on the students’ part, and the heat made the weekend incredibly difficult! Every pupil showed determination, skill, team unity and fitness, and this, combined with gallons or water and sun cream, resulted in a 100% success rate.

I was truly proud to be a member of Bower Park while I watched the smile on every students’ face when they finally finished this afternoon.

I would like to send a huge thank you to the staff that gave up their weekend to accompany me and support me and the students.  Your help was invaluable.
