Department vision

Science enables Bower Park students to understand, question and analyse the world in which they live.  Students and teachers alike have high expectations and constantly aim to improve themselves. Learning is consistent and provides all students with the foundation to enjoy learning.

What will my son/daughter learn at Key Stage 3?

A range of biology, chemistry and physics units on rotation.

                Year 7 – Introduction to science practical, adaptation and environments, solids, liquids and gases, energy, acids and alkali, cells and reproduction

                Year 8 – Forces and space, ecosystems, elements, compounds and mixtures, electricity, the digestive system and diet, Earth and its atmosphere

                Year 9 – Waves, metals and other materials, speed, distance and time

Edexcel Combined Science

What will my son/daughter learn at Key Stage 4?
