Thank you to all the members of our local community who came along on Thursday 6th July to make our first Bowerstock such a great success. The attendance was phenomenal – way beyond what we expected. The evening was organised to help raise funds to renovate the South Hall. We need approximately £25,000, and last night raised close to £3000!
During the evening we were entertained by groups from across our community. The Brittons Band Project, from The Brittons Academy, played some sensational songs. We also heard the excellent choir from Clockhouse Primary singing famous songs from the West End musicals. Oasis Pinewoods sang and danced brilliantly to be followed by the Kings Academy of Dance, who rocked the joint dancing to 70’s and 80’s rock numbers. They also showed great precision performing other dances and demonstrated great resilience when the heavens opened and they continued to dance through the storm! The final performances came from our very own excellent musicians past and present. We heard excellent singing and playing from Bower Park students – some performing their own material. The finale was from our alumni, with the Asher sisters singing three songs followed by our very own X Factor star, Amy Mottram, who closed the show. Thank you to the staff from all the schools who helped the performers prepare and perform to such a high standard.
Alongside the musical and dance entertainment, there were stalls, games and other entertainments. Thank you to the students, staff and parents who gave their time to run these during the evening.
Thank you to everyone who came along, stayed through the storm and gave so generously to our cause. It is really appreciated. Next year Bowerstock will be bigger and even better!!
