Believe in yourself. Be yourself. Be proud of your success.
We understand that individual students have individual talents with a variety of hopes and aspirations. It is our job to ensure that each one grows and flourishes here at Bower Park Academy.
We encourage parents to take a full and active involvement in their child’s education. We believe that close partnership with parents ensures that every student achieves as much as they can in their time with us.
Students are expected to play an active part in the life of the Academy, to be resilient, to have a positive mindset and to care about and to treat one another with mutual respect. Bower Park Academy offers a varied and diverse extra-curricular timetable, which gives many opportunities for our children to learn outside the classroom and develop different skills.
We expect our students to be ready for learning every lesson. They should be well-equipped, and this is monitored daily by form tutors. Homework is set by classroom teachers as a means of consolidation and reinforcement, and this is recorded in the learning journal. The learning journal is a key method of recording tasks and enabling parents to oversee their child’s work and progress outside the school. This is why we ask you to sign your child’s learning journal weekly. ‘Show my homework’ is also used to support you with your child’s homework.
Some of the key phrases we have shared with our students are;
- Believe in yourself
- Keep a positive mindset
- Be resilient
- Be active
- Be respectful
The key words above are essential for your child’s success in and out of school.
